"Stephen Devassy" a role model

A world known Musician/Pianist.

Stephen Devassy  (born 23 February 1981)   is a well known

Indian musician hailing from Palakkad, Kerala. He started his

 career at an early age, and has performed on stage around the 

world. Also, Stephen is the founder of Musik Lounge, an audio

 technology school and studio in Chennai.

About him,

        In his childhood, he had suffered from cancer but later he overcame that and was cured soon. At that time his father gifted him a small basic keyboard. Later, he started practicing on that keyboard and slowly he improved himself.

“

When I was ten years old, I had a good fever. That fever went 

on increasing. Upon examination, it was found that it was the 

onset of leukemia. That moment the whole family collapsed. 

But when it was discovered early on, it was possible to cure 

it  properly. I have also gone through such a life experience. 

Now I feel like I am on a journey to complete a God-assigned 

task for me. God does not create anyone to eat and sleep. 

Everyone has to do something of their own.         

   -  Says Stephen.

                            At the age of 11, he started playing piano and as he was growing up, he was also developing himself in music systematically. Later he completed his 8 Grade in Solo Piano from “TRINITY COLLEGE LONDON” with a record Score.

                           As he was on the way of music, he realized that teaching was not the goal of his life. So he pretty much stopped going to college and lost his pre-degree all of the sudden. But his Family was sad about his decision.

But it was a gateway for him for his passion/dream.

“

 In life, I believe, that defeat was a success. Our goal is to work for it. ' -  Says Stephen.

      ”

                           Stephen has overcome many difficulties in the life of music. More than three thousand shows in over fifty countries. Composer of more than three films. He is marveling at the venue, the silver screen, the miniskirts, and the fingers and the music. With the utter conviction that he has no life beyond music.

                Stephen Devassy has explored various styles like -classical, blues, classic rock, jazz, Carnatic and world music fusion. His thorough control of the instruments and speed in playing makes him a natural choice as a solo artist- or in the company of both International and Indian musical legends.

                 His rigorous and dedicated practice hours and playing skills are admirable.

                Today he is Rated as the fastest keyboard player in Asia. Stephen is fondly known as ‘Flying Fingers’ and ‘Prince of Piano.’
